Moeen-Bell stand a record for first wicket as minnows suffer 10th straight loss
* Moeen Ali’s 128 is only the second One Day International (ODI) 100 for England in New Zealand. Chris Broad had made 106 against the home side at Napier nearly 27 years ago, on March 16, 1988.
* Moeen is the first England batsman to make a three-figure score against Scotland. The previous best was 69 by Craig Kieswetter at Edinburgh on June 19, 2010.
* The first wicket stand of 172 between Moeen and Ian Bell was England’s highest for the opening wicket in all World Cups. The previous best was 158 between Barry Wood and Dennis Amiss against East Africa at Birmingham in 1975.
* Kyle Coetzer’s 71 is Scotland’s second-highest individual score in World Cups after Gavin Hamilton’s 76 vs Pakistan at Chester-le-Street in the 1999 tournament.
* England’s 119-run win is their seventh victory by margins of 100-plus runs in WCs
* After 10 World Cup games Scotland are still without a win, having lost all ten. It is by far the worst ever performance by any side in the history of World Cups. Namibia come second with six World Cup losses in as many games.
