Dubai: India's legendary wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani will be in the UAE next week to provide invaluable tips to the youngsters. Kirmani will be at the Spring Cricket Academy at the JSS Private School, near Safa Park.

Speaking to Gulf News, Sunish Kumar, who is the manager of the academy, said: "We wanted to stage a special winter coaching programme and have invited a great player like Kirmani to flag off this camp."

Kumar is a physical education teacher and has been providing coaching to budding cricketers for many years. He planned this camp with the aim of inspiring youngsters through the presence of a great player.

"The camp will be inaugurated on December 17 by Kirmani and the coaching will be held from December 22 to January 5. We have got former Indian team assistant coach D.S.K. Reddy to lead the programme. Youngsters will be able to gain knowledge on playing strategies from Reddy and also get tips from Kirmani," added Kumar.

Four Nations cup

The inauguration of the camp will take place at the JSS Private School at 6pm and the camp will commence from December 22 every day from 8am to 11am.

Meanwhile, Young Talents Cricket Academy (YTCA) has launched the UAE Exchange 4 Nations Cup. The co-sponsors are Gersan Elektrik and UniCare Medical Centre.

The teams were presented with their respective nation caps and clothing for the upcoming tournament. The third edition of the tournament will be played at the Delhi Private Schools in Sharjah and Jebel Ali as well as the Skyline-Young Talents Cricket Ground.

Following are the participating teams divided on nationality. Under 10 - YTCA Indian Warriors, YTCA Sri Lankan Lions and YTCA UAE Falcons. Under 13 - YTCA Indian Warriors, YTCA Indian Panthers, YTCA Pakistani Tigers, YTCA Sri Lankan Lions and YTCA UAE Falcons.
