Sharjah: The Dubai Modern High School will take on hosts Delhi Private School (DPS), Sharjah in the final of the Sundeep Batavia Memorial Under-12 cricket tournament today under floodlights.
In the first semifinals at the DPS ground in Sharjah, Dubai Modern High School recorded an exciting 12-run win over Our Own English School, Sharjah.
In the second semifinal, DPS defeated Our Own English High School, Al Warqa'a by six wickets.
Modern High School won the toss and elected to bat. Our Own school's Mohammad Israr and Akash Srinivas bagged four wickets each to restrict Modern High School to 101 in 14.5 overs.
Modern High School's consistent batsman Chirag Suri, who batted at one-down position, played another fine knock of 36. His innings contained seven hits to the boundary.

One-down Manav Ghelani withstood the tight Modern High School attack to score a defiant 41.

In the other semifinal, Our Own were restricted to 90 for 8 despite Faizan Mohammad's 33 and Sourav Gir's 22. Wali bag-ged 4 for 13 and Prithvi Solanki picked 2 for 18.
DPS, Sharjah reached the target in 16.5 overs through Solanki's unbeaten 44 off 46 balls with six fours.
