Abu Dhabi: Ashraf Haider smashed a half-century and took six wickets to guide Emistate to a resounding 58-run win over Adma-Opco in the UBL Twenty20 Cup at the Shaikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Haider’s 52 runs off 33 balls was studded with three sixes and two boundaries as his side went on to post 160 for 6 in 20 overs. Haider then also came good with the ball, bagging six wickets for 18 runs from four overs. Adma-Opco were eventually bundled out for 102 runs, the last nine wickets falling for 49 runs.

In another encounter, Al Faraa registered a thrilling Super Over victory against Nissan Al Masaood after the scores were tied at 119. In the Super Over, the automobile dealers made 11 and Al Faraa knocked off the winning runs with a delivery to spare.

Sohail Chatta held the Al Masaood inning together with a top score of 65 not out but it was the bowling of Mohammad Ajmal, four for 13 from four overs, that set-up the tie. Chatta’s 49-ball knock was highlighted by seven hits to the fence and two sixes.

Farhan Ahmad and Mohammad Shamil took seven wickets between them to skittle out Emirates Cricket Board Blues 54 in 11.5 overs in reply to UAE Exchange Centre’s 157 for six.
