Busy time for Sharjah Cricket Council

Sharjah: The Sharjah Cricket Council is busy staging their tournaments for the season at a hectic pace.

As many as three tournaments are being held at different venues to make sure the schedules are completed before the weather turns hot.

The Sharjah Twenty20 Summer Cup, is being held at the Sharjah Stadium.

The AJ Sports Cricket League tournament for B Division teams is being staged at the Al Dhaid Cricket Village.

The first Al Dhaid Village Cricket League Tournament is also being held there simultaneously.

In the Twenty20 Cup, Marlon Fernando took three wickets for 12 runs and Oshada Warnapura smashed a blazing half-century as Lanka Lions roared past Red Line CC with ease, winning the match by eight wickets.

In the AJ Sports league, Khurram turned in a superb all-round performance and Waseem hammered a stroke-filled 91 as Al Futtaim Motors defeated Pathfinder Starlets by five wickets in a quarterfinal match.

In a pre-quarterfinal match Solanki routed Rosy Blue by 170 runs.

Meanwhile, Jarnail Singh and Amin hit half centuries to steer Eurocon Alubond to a 19-run victory over Globelink Weststar in a quarterfinal match of the first Al Dhaid Village Cricket League Tournament.

Jarnail cracked 62 off 24 balls while Amin hit 53. Eurocon scored 233 runs.
