All-rounder Aamir Jamal condemns Australian spinner’s act as disrespectful
Dubai: Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has landed himself in trouble for mocking Pakistan skipper Mohammed Rizwan. Pakistan pacer Aamir Jamal has called it a “shameful” act.
In a video, Hogg is seen interviewing a man impersonating Rizwan. He begins with a question on what Rizwan thinks about Virat Kohli, to which the impersonator replies: “Me and Virat are same. Virat is also drinking water, I’m also drinking water. He is also eating food. I’m also eating food. We both are same; no different.”
Hogg then goes on to ask about the team’s strategy, to which Rizwan’s impersonator says: “Sometimes you learn, sometimes you win, but our team is focused on the learn, so sometimes every time we learn.”
Hogg wraps up the segment by saying: “Mohammad, your English has improved so much since I last spoke to you,” a comment that has caused real controversy, to which the man responds with random answers, including calling him the best in the Pakistan team.
Responding to the video, Pakistan pacer Aamir Jamal slammed Hogg, calling the act “shameful” and emphasising that English is Rizwan’s third language. He also took a dig at the former cricketer, suggesting that Hogg should focus on TikTok instead.
“I just watched a video circulating on Twitter and other social media. It is a very shameful act from @Brad_Hogg, who calls himself an international cricketer, making fun of @iMRizwanPak about his English, which is his third language, not even second,” Jamal wrote on X.
“I would rather suggest you become a #TikToker because you might need followers and attention by making fun of other people. That’s the platform for you, not the cricket community,” he added.
Several fans on social media have also vented their anger, condemning Hogg’s actions and supporting Rizwan.
