Dubai: Shreyas Iyer might’ve bossed bowlers in Indian Premier League Season 18, but at home? He was no match for mum.

The Punjab Kings skipper shared a light-hearted video that’s now gone viral— featuring him playing a casual game of tennis-ball cricket indoors, only to be clean-bowled by his mother. Yes, clean. Bowled.

After bowling a full toss, Rohini Iyer follows it up with a delivery on the good length, close to the corridor of uncertainty, only to see her son miss the delivery.

And the internet couldn’t get enough.

“Only time SARPANCH wouldn’t mind getting bowled,” Punjab Kings quipped on their X handle, referring to Iyer’s nickname and the cheeky moment of defeat. Fans piled on with even funnier comments.

“Is she available for the second Test match?” asked another, taking a jab at India’s recent loss to England.

Left out of Indian Test squad

“That second one is in such a perfect spot, you have to appreciate it,” wrote a third, clearly impressed by mum’s line and length.

Despite a stellar IPL season — 604 runs and a final appearance where PBKS lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru — Iyer was left out of India’s squad for the England Test series. And while selectors drew criticism after the opening Test defeat, Iyer stayed chill. No rants, no ruffles — just wholesome home cricket and high-speed hobbies.

Iyer recently swapped cricket whites for a racing suit at Dubai Autodrome. Representing Mumbai Falcons — both on the pitch in the Mumbai T20 League and now, off it—he took the wheel, flashing his trademark No. 96 as he hit the track.

Stylish on the field and swift on four wheels, Iyer is currently off international duty, but is expected to return for India’s white-ball series against Bangladesh starting August 17.

Until then, it’s family fun, fast cars and… a fearsome bowler in his own living room.
