He scores 46 and takes 3 wickets in 4-wicket victory over Interface Transworld
Dubai: A superb all-round performance from Asif Iqbal powered Danube Lions to a thrilling four-wicket win over Interface Transworld in a Group ‘B’ encounter in the DCC Ramadan Cricket tournament being held at the Dubai Men’s College Fair Grounds Oval on Monday night.
Iqbal, after picking up three wickets, helped restrict Interface who were sent to bat first after losing the toss, to 186 for nine in 25 overs. He starred in Danube’s win by smashing a fine 46 as opener.
Chasing 187 for victory, Danube reached the target with one over to spare.
Openers Iqbal and Samiullah added a 59-run partnership for the first wicket and gave Danube a sound start.
Iqbal hammered six fours and two sixes and made 46 from just 26 balls, while Samiullah was aggressive too, hitting 31 off 22 balls with the help of four boundaries and one six.
