Abu Dhabi: Afghanistan skipper Asghar Afghan won the toss and elected to bat in their Asia Cup Super Four match against Pakistan at the Shaikh Zayed Stadium here. Gulf News was covering all the action as it happened with inputs from our Reporter N.D. Prashant:

Afghanistan skipper Asghar Afghan's blitz comes to an end for a 56 ball 67. Bowled by Shaheen Shah after being dropped in the same over by Haris Sohail. He has provided the much needed impetus to the total.  They are 194 for 4 in 43.2 overs.

Afghanistan's Ihsanullah (10) couldnt make those two lifelines count. He walks back after handing a simple return catch to Mohammad Nawaz. Score 26 for 1.

Afghanistan have made a steady start and are being helped with some poor fielding. Ihsanullah has been dropped twice in two balls off Shaheen Shah. Fakhar Zaman and Usman Khan were the culprits. Score 26 for no loss after 8 overs.

Afghanistan, who are looking to build on their upset wins over Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the first round, brought in big-hitting batsman Najibullah Zadran for Samiullah Shenwari.

Pakistan brought in Haris Sohail, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz after losing to India by eight wickets on Wednesday, leaving out Mohammad Amir, Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf. Shaheen is making his one-day international debut.
