Bomba Energy Drink post impressive victory

The formidable Bomba Energy Drink team chalked out an impressive 8-0 win to occupy the top position at the end of the opening week of the Applebees Mixed Bowling League at the Dubai Bowling Centre on Tuesday.

The Bomba team, filled with members of the UAE national squads, handed out an 8-0 rout to Hammad's team.

The opening night, however, belonged to the most favoured Bomba team as they relied on two of the UAE national team stars GCC Masters Champion Sayed Ebrahim and 2004 and 2005 ABF Tour champion Shaker Ali.

Ebrahim had lines of 257, 221 and 224 for a series of 702, while Ali got off to a slow start of 222 and then powered his way to a 276 and 203 for a 701 series.

Providing equally strong support was UAE youth Mahmoud Al Attar (691), lady bowler Uella Marcial (588), and Bomba team manager Jamal Qasim Sultan (513) for a total team handicap series of 3237.

Also starting well to chase early leaders Bomba by winning all eight points against the Pirates, were the Challengers Team of Philip Raymundo (647), Andy Matic (488), Kathleen Raymundo (548), Butch Vargas (624) and Hussain Al Suwaidi.

The Challengers lived up to their name with a superb 710 series including a high game of 279 for a total team handicap series of 3103.

The JG Boleros Team got the better of the Dubai Drydocks Team for an 8-0 win and a total team handicap series of 2,680 to be placed third in the standings.

T2 Phil's Team prevailed 6-2 over SMZ Team to be placed fourth.
