Dubai: India recorded their second victory in a row at the Kabaddi Masters Dubai, trouncing Kenya 48-19 at the Al Wasl Sports Club. After starting off with an impressive 36-20 win over Pakistan in the opening match of this tournament on Friday, Indians have dominated their matches with impressive raids and is on top of the points table.

In the first match on Saturday, Iran too recorded an emphatic 54-24 win over Argentina.

The stars behind India’s victory were Rishank Devadiga with 15 raid points and Monu Goyat with 10 points. It was once again a smooth start for India, who raced to a 3-0 lead in three minutes through skipper Ajay Thakur and Goyat’s raid points.

Kenya opened their account with a raid point in the fourth minute but trailed 1-5. They did try to confuse the India defence and even earned seven points in ten minutes.

In the fifth minute, Kenya forced a super tackle to sent Monu Goyat to the bench. Devadiga scored a raid point in the seventh minute and India surged to a 9-3 lead. India inflicted the first all out of the match to lead 12-3.

Though Mosambayi scored with a raid in the eighth minute, Kenya trailed 4-12. Goyat scored with a two-point raid in the 17th minute to swell India’s lead to 20-9. India inflicted another all out in the 18th minute to lead 24-9. India lead 27-9 at the break.

The start of the second half was slow as both teams could score just five combined points. Goyat with a four-point raid in the 28th minute gave India 34-12 lead.

India inflicted the third all-out to further take firm grip on the match and lead 37-12 With 10 more minutes to go, India scored 12 straight points to fetch a dominating 30-point lead. Devadiga through a super raid in the 38th minute gave India 47-15 lead. In the last minute, Kenya scored with a two-point raid but India raced to their emphatic win.
