No official statement yet from Tendulkar or Ghai families on Arjun's engagement
Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, is officially off the market. The 25-year-old cricketer recently got engaged to Saaniya Chandok, granddaughter of prominent Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai, in a low-key ceremony attended by close family and friends, according to a report by India Today.
Saaniya comes from one of Mumbai’s most influential business families. The Ghais are well known in the hospitality and food industries, owning the InterContinental hotel and the popular dessert brand Brooklyn Creamery.
Despite the buzz, neither the Tendulkar nor the Ghai family has issued an official statement about the engagement. Arjun kept things low-profile on social media. His most recent Instagram activity was a story from the cricket nets earlier that day, captioned: “Just cricket ground.” His last post was a lighthearted Rakshabandhan video featuring his sister, Sara, where he tried his hand at applying her makeup.
Much like his father, Arjun is following a similar path in love and life. Sachin Tendulkar had proposed to Anjali’s mother when he was just 19 and married her three years later in 1995 at the age of 22.
Arjun has been making steady progress in his cricketing career. A left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder, he represents Goa in domestic cricket. In 17 First Class games, he has picked up 37 wickets and scored over 500 runs, including a century on debut in the 2022 Ranji Trophy—mirroring his father’s century on debut for Mumbai back in 1988.
In white-ball formats, Arjun has 25 wickets in 18 List A matches and 27 scalps in 24 T20 games. He also had a brief stint with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, debuting in 2023. After being released ahead of the 2025 season, he was re-acquired by the franchise for ₹30 lakh in the mega auction.
Saaniya, meanwhile, maintains a private lifestyle despite her family’s high profile in Mumbai’s elite circles.
The engagement marks a personal milestone for Arjun, who has balanced public expectations, a budding cricket career, and now, a new chapter in his personal life.
