Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday received the board of directors of Al Shabab Al Arabi Sports Club as well as the club's football and basketball teams which won honours at the GCC championships.
The football team of Al Shabab Club recently won the GCC Champions League and the Basketball Championship.
Shaikh Mohammad congratulated the club, its board, players and fans on the championships they achieved due to their outstanding efforts and determination and viewing the future in an optimistic manner.
He congratulated Shaikh Mansour Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Chairman of the club, and Sami Al Qamzi, Board Chairman, on winning both the football and basketball championships.
Shaikh Mohammad urged the club's board and players to achieve further victories, not only at the GCC level but at the Asian level.
"We should not look behind to see what is already achieved, but look at the future to see what we want to achieve and set the goal that we want to reach," the Vice-President said.
Shaikh Mohammad issued instructions to support and encourage the club to pursue its march towards further success and progress as well as to realise sport victories locally and regionally.
