Abu Dhabi: Omair Hussain Abdullah Al Bloushi scored another win at his favourite hunting ground in the 100km Boudthib Endurance Cup for Young & Junior Riders yesterday.

Omair, who has won two junior rides here at the Boudthib Endurance Village last season, scored his third yesterday riding 10-year-old Jendari Mandate.

In fact it was a hat-trick of wins for the Bloushi family as just a fortnight ago Yousuf and Sultan Ahmad Al Bloushi won a senior and junior ride at Al Wathba and yesterday it was the pair's cousin, Omair, who topped the pack to complete a hat-trick of wins both for the Bloushi family as well as the Al Reef Stables.

Omair, who finished 8th after the first 30km loop, slowly gathered pace to forge ahead at the end of the second stage.

From then onwards he led to finish ahead of Layla Abdul Aziz Al Redha on Raswan Ibn Ghadif.

"The plan was to stay in the leader's pack but I could not do that during the first stage. During the break my brother (Yousuf) advised on a change in tactic and after that I led throughout. My horse was in good nick and just kept going," said Omair.

Layla, who has had a fair share of success during her stint in summer in the UK, said she had registered a pace that was much above her regular speed.

Layla, who came up with a consistent display though all four loops of the race said: "Initially my horse was pulling and the speed was high. After that I managed to pace him well and this helped as the climate got hotter." Layla had won an 80km and a 120km young riders event in her four starts during the summer in England.

Sultan Ahmad Al Bloushi, who had won the season's opening junior ride, finished third while Shaikh Abdullah Bin Faisal Al Qasimi, another consistent junior rider, finished fourth. Hussain Mohammad Hussain, Secretary General of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, distributed the trophies to the winners.
