2009: Remember Deccan Chargers? The Hyderabad-based franchise, who were later re-branded as Sunrisers Hyderabad, defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by six runs in a close final at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. The tournament had to be shifted at a two weeks' notice outside the country with the Parliamentary elections in India coincided with the event and enough security could not be provided for the matches. 2010: Chennai Super Kings claimed the first of their three IPL crowns so far when they beat Mumbai Indians by 22 runs at the D.Y.Patil Stadium in Mumbai. 2014: Kolkata Knight Riders players are overjoyed after winning the seventh edition, beating Kings XI Punjab by three wickets in Bengaluru. 2017: Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians added yet another title to their kitty when they won the 10th edition of the title, beating Rising Pune Supergiant in the final at Hyderabad by one run. Incidentally, Rising Pune Supergiant and Gujarat Lions were the two franchises who filled in for two years in 2016 & 2017 when Chennai and Rajasthan Royals were facing bans for alleged involvement in corruption.
