Look: Wins for Al Wahda, Bani Yas, Ajman, Al Ain in week 17 of ADNOC UAE Pro League

Goals from Isaac Thelin and Eisa Al Maazmi helped Bani Yas secure a 2-0 win over Al Dhafra in matchweek 17 of the ADNOC Pro League at Bani Yas Stadium on Saturday.

It took the hosts just 11 minutes to take the lead when Thelin opened his account after he squeezed in Joao Victor's low cross from the left flank, beating goalkeeper Abdullah Sultan at his near post.

The result means Bani Yas sit in ninth place with 22 points while Al Dhafra remain in 12th place with 11 points.

Omar Khrbin made the difference for Al Wahda in a 2-1 home win over Al Wasl at Al Nahyan Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts needed 26 minutes to open the scoring after some great teamwork between the Syrian international forward and Brazilian forward Joao Pedro with a frenzy ensuing in the six yard box as the ball bounced back and forth before the former slotted home.

The home side maintained their position in second place in the ADNOC Pro League table with 36 points, while the visitors remained 8th with 22 points.

Al Ain managed a routine 2-0 win against Ittihad Kalba making it four wins on the trot and extending their lead at the top of the table to nine points, all while keeping a third clean sheet in a row for the first time since April 2018.

Sergei Rebrov’s men are on 42 points in first place after the win and their third clean sheet in a row, while Ittihad Kalba sit in 10th place on 18 points.

Ajman cruised to a comfortable 3-0 away victory against Al Orooba at Fujairah Stadium. The visitors wasted no time to open their account as Leandro Spadacio took control of a poorly cleared ball and curled it expertly into the far corner inside five minutes.

The result means Ajman sit sixth with 25 points while Al Orooba remain two points adrift of safety in 13th place with nine points.
