Look! Britain's Joshua takes beating from Ukrainian Usyk, loses heavyweight world titles

Dazzling entry... Britain's Anthony Joshua arrives for his heavyweight title bout against Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London. It was a fight that Joshua was expected to win...

But the Ukrainian put on a masterclass in front of 65,000 fans. Having seen a fight with fellow Briton Tyson Fury collapse last summer, Joshua opted to face his WBO mandatory challenger and former undisputed cruiserweight champion Usyk.

Left jab... Usyk throws a punch at Joshua and hurt the defending champion on numerous occasions. He outclassed the Brit over 12 rounds.

Well on top... Boxing's return to stadium nights was soured for the home fans by a truly exceptional performance from the challenger.

Another jab... Usyk's abilities quickly became apparent and he was full of feints and pace from the start. He was moving Joshua around the ring at will.

What day is it? Joshua had taken a real beating but the crowd tried to inspire the defending champion.

The Brit fought back but he was then saved by the bell as Usyk connected with another heavy blow.

Both fighters had blood on their faces by the 11th round and Joshua needed a knockout in the final round to win but it was not to be. Usyk landed more punches in the final round.

Celebration time! The scorecards - 117-112, 116-112, 115-113 - were all for Usyk and he was a worthy winner. Joshua has a rematch clause in his contract with Usyk and said he would be taking it.

What a belter! Usyk celebrates winning his fight and becoming the new world heavyweight champion.
