Primoz Roglic and UAE Team Emirates' Tadej Pogacar have been making waves for Slovenia as the two leading riders at this year's Tour de France

An emotional finish to Stage 18 in the Alps saw Poland's Michal Kwiatkowski and Richard Carapaz finish arm-in-arm to lead home an Ineos Grenadiers one-two.

Pogacar, 21, has lit up the Tour on his own, constantly attacking his 30-year-old rival Roglic, whom he trails by just 57 seconds.

The young UAE rider has impressed with his staying power throughout the Tour, winning two stages in the process.

The Slovenian finished safely in the pack to remain 57 seconds behind countryman Roglic.

And will the Tour now reaching the final few stages, Pogacar is poised to make one last attack in an attempt to claim the yellow jersey.

With three days of action still to unfold on the world's greatest cycling race, ample opportunity remains for the fabled yellow, green, white and polka dot jerseys to be won or lost in the fascinating 21-stage contest.

But the penultimate time trial will be the best chance for Pogacar to make his move.

And regardless of where he finishes, Pogacar has already made quite a name for himself.

He also leads the race for the white jersey, the best among the young riders in the Tour.
