In Pictures: New Zealand beat England in dramatic T20 World Cup semifinal

England lost the toss and were put in to bat. Moeen Ali was their top scorer with 51 as England posted 166-4 from 20 overs.

England were well on course to make Sunday's final but then an assault from Neesham swung the game in New Zealand's favour. He smashed three sixes as the Black Caps' pursuit of 167 was given life.

Neesham was caught for 27 but he had done the required damage and the Black Caps then needed 20 from 12 balls and opener Daryl Mitchell took on the attack.

Mitchell smashed England's Chris Woakes for two sixes to finish on 72 not out as New Zealand won by five wickets.

England had cantered through the group stage with four wins but their quest to become the first team to hold both the men's 50-overs and T20 World Cups is now over.

New Zealand were beaten in stunning fashion when the sides met in the 2019 World Cup final where a super over was required after the match was twice tied. It was sweet revenge for them last night and they will now face either Australia or Pakistan - who meet tonight in the second semifinal - in the final in Dubai on Sunday.
