Anneley Rodrigues, 20, a student at Heriot-Watt University, is head-over-heels for her furry companion, Maple—and for good reason. “Maple is curious, friendly, and full of surprises,” says Anneley. “He follows us everywhere—yes, even to the restroom—and races to the door at the slightest knock.”

And who could forget the infamous broasted chicken heist? As a kitten, Maple snatched a quarter chicken, devoured it in the bathroom, and left behind a "crime scene" of bones. “We couldn’t even be mad—we ended up giving him more!” Anneley laughs.
