Blue isn’t always the colour of sadness. Sometimes, it’s one of solidarity. This past week in an effort to show support to frontline healthcare workers who confront the realities of the coronavirus pandemic, a new initiative was born that saw a number of buildings light up in blue in the UK. Taking it forward were countries such as the US and UAE, where well-known landmarks lit up on Monday in the same spirit of humanity and togetherness. First up, the Clymb, where you can try indoor skydiving.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi was next to turn blue. The twitter handle had captioned this image: "Thrills of the Red light up blue at #FerrariWorldAD to show our appreciation for the frontline heroes!"

New York governor Andrew Cuomo tweeted a number of images on April 10. He wrote: "Landmarks across the state are lit blue tonight in support of all the healthcare workers and all the essential personnel on the frontlines in our battle against #COVID19."
