Preity Zinta: News of Kapoor Khan's debut comes days after we heard that Preity Zinta will also make her digital splash through a new venture with International Art Machine. Zinta has been roped in for a thriller titled ‘The Kitty Party’. Talking about the project to Variety, Zintat stated: “‘The Kitty Party’ is a female-driven murder mystery that moonlights between being a dramedy and thriller. Too early to comment more except that we cannot wait to get started. I’m sure we will have as much fun filming this as we had putting it together.” With this, Zinta will end her four-year hiatus from films. The actress was last seen in 'Welcome to New York' in a cameo appearance, along with ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’ in 2018. fter her 2018 film ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’ tanked at the box office, Zinta has been limiting her appearances to judging reality shows, social media and Bollywood events. Now, with motherhood keeping her occupied, we understand things have been busy. This talented actress, who won a million hearts when she played an unwed mother in ‘Kya Kehna!’ is the perfect star to feature in an urban, modern-day romance. Scriptwriters, are you listening?

Sanjay Dutt: The Bollywood actor who ruled the industry between the 80s and early 90s is ripe for a meaty role in a web series. How we would love to see him relive the magic of ‘Khalnayak’ or ‘Vaastav’. And it’s not like he isn’t open to the idea. When the actor spoke to Gulf News last year, he talked about venturing into web content with his production house. “We are working on a lot of web as well. There’s a lot of content we have in the company which will be a good fit for web,” he revealed, adding that he wasn’t averse to starring in some of the productions himself, following in the footsteps of other screen-to-digital actors including Saif Ali Khan (‘Sacred Games’, Netflix), Abhishek Bachchan (‘Breathe’ Season 2, Amazon Prime Video) and Akshay Kumar (‘The End’, Amazon Prime Video). “I would love to star in a web series as well, absolutely. I will 100 per cent do web if I get a good series to work in or a good character,” stressed Dutt.

Juhi Chawla: The talented powerhouse has all but disappeared from films. After a brief stint in a web series with ‘The Test Case’, Chawla will appear in the film 'Sharmaji Namkeen', which is set for digital release on March 31 on Prime Video and is actor Rishi Kapoor's last movie. While fans may love her as the lovable, charming star on screen, a more serious, dramatic role would really give her talent free rein on web.

Tabu: It seems like forever since we saw her in Mira Nair’s much talked about web series ‘A Suitable Boy’, featuring Ishaan Khatter as well. Based on Vikram Seth’s award-winning book of the same name, the six-part series for BBC also features Rasika Dugal, Vivaan Shah, Namit Das, Tanya Maniktala and Shefali Shah. But what fans really want to see more of is the talented, yet reclusive, actress Tabu. How she would shine in a thriller or a horror web series.

Shah Rukh Khan: Earlier this week, the media went agog saying Shah Rukh Khan had launched his own streaming app, only for everyone to learn it was a storm in a teacup with the teaser on his social media for SRK+ turning into an ad for Disney+ Hotstar. The King of Bollywood may be returning with ‘Pathaan’, his big comeback after the ‘Zero’ debacle of 2019, but there’s much more we can see of him and explore on small screen. While his production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, has already delved into digital with ‘The Bard of Blood’, followed by ‘Betaal’, it would be a treat to see Khan spread out his arms in his trademark style for web.

Rekha: Another recluse but a power-house of talent who fans would love to see on the small screen is the eternally graceful Rekha. Fans last saw her in getting into the groove in the 2018 song, ‘Rafta Rafta’, which was a special track shot for ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se’. While we’ve seen her shine in plenty of dramas and thrillers, it would be a treat to see Rekha return to form from her days in ‘Khubsoorat’ or even ‘Mr Natwarlal’.
