I am a senior citizen from India. Every year I come to Dubai to visit my sons who are working here. For the last 13 years, during my stay, I have been an ardent and regular reader of Gulf News.

This news daily in question may be categorised as a unique paper from all angles and prisms in the world. It has brought about a spectacular and revolutionary progress in the field of print media in the age of the digital world. The pages of this paper discuss news catering to people of different countries, living in the UAE. Its wide coverage includes educative, investigative and entertaining journalism, across many subjects.

Last but not the least, I have the proud privilege of being in Dubai during the Year of Zayed. Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, should be admired for his vision.

Incidentally, the Year of Zayed coincides with Gulf News’ 40th anniversary. Even if this fabulous newspaper has travelled through its ups and downs, the journey shall continue, unabated. The journalists at the paper will continue providing benefits to the reader.

I would like to congratulate the Editor-in-Chief and members of the editorial board of this esteemed newspaper for their selfless service in delivering news and making this paper, a popular daily. I wish Gulf News and its entire team a successful journey ahead.

The reader is a retired professional and enjoys reading Gulf News.
