Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday attended a part of the AI Training Programme launched by the UAE government in partnership with Oxford University.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, was present on the occasion.

Shaikh Mohammad was briefed by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, about the programme that aims to acquaint participants with AI technology and expected future challenges.

Shaikh Mohammad enquired about various aspects of the programme that revolve around the ethics of artificial intelligence and cyber security, the collection and analysis of data, and planning and designing solutions for various challenges.

The programme was designed in a way that takes into consideration the UAE’s experience, as well as the government’s approach on empowering employees with the tools and skills to benefit from AI technology in order to develop and innovate future government services.

The programme targets UAE government employees who have at least five years of experience, and have a strategic vision and a passion for change. It focuses on training national cadres and providing them with the necessary skills to adopt AI technology that will contribute to achieving the goals and vision of UAE Centennial 2071. It will qualify the cadres to prepare and implement plans for adopting AI technology in government bodies.
