Ajman: A 24-year-old Asian man was rescued from drowning off the beach in Ajman on Sunday evening, an officer at Al Rumaila Civil Defence said.
The incident occurred at around 7.10pm, said Captain Saeed Rashid Al Shaali.
The man was rescued by marine division of Ajman Civil Defence and first aid was given to him on site.
Maritime rescue teams of the Civil Defence helped avert the disaster, he said, as the team members are stationed at the beach to observe safety of beachgoers and offer help in case any one needs it, Captain Al Shaali said.
The officer urged beachgoers to avoid sea during unstable weather.
He also called on beach goers to be cautious while swimming, particularly during high tide and avoid swimming at dark time as it difficult to carry out rescue mission.
