Ramallah: Palestinian artists have created a steel model train carrying a heavy iron key to symbolise Palestinian refugees and their right to return after expelled from their homes in 1948 when the state of Israel was created.

The steel train on a railway heading to Israel was created to mark the 64th Al Nakba Day, emphasising the right of thousands of Palestinian refugees and their decedents to return to their hometowns inside Israel.

The train was placed on the historic Green Line which separates the West Bank from Israel - only a single kilometre away from the Israeli city of Kfar Saba.

The idea of the model train has been inspired by the ancient train which was located just on the Green Line which after the 1948 war between the Arabs and Israel was used as the separation point between the lands controlled by the Israelis and the lands which remained under the Arabs.
