Saudi family's shock on opening father’s coffin

The family insisted that they would open the coffin before taking it for burial

Dubai: A Saudi family was waiting to receive their father’s body from the US, but were shocked when they opened the coffin.

Badr Abu Taleb, the eldest son of the deceased, told MBC channel on Saturday through a phone call that his father passed away in Washington recently.

They had completed all the procedures to repatriate his body to Saudi Arabia for the burial.

But Badr Abu Taleb said the family was shocked when his brother received the body at Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport.

He found that the shipping number on the coffin did not match the number they had on the official papers provided to them in the US.

The family insisted that they would open the coffin before taking it for burial.

They were stunned to find that the coffin contained the body of another person, who had European features.

The family then hunted for the body, which took 20 days.

They finally found their father’s body, which was traced in another country, which the family did not specify.
