UAE visa decisions amended: All you need to know about the updates

The UAE Cabinet has announced the cancelation of its previous decision on the validity of visas and entry permits for those inside the country from March 1, 2020, until the end of December of this year. Read more here: https://gulfnews.com/1.1594391146318

The decision affects visa validity as well as Emirates ID validity in the UAE. The earlier decisions will not be implemented after July 11.

Regular fees will be charged for services by the ICA from July 12.

Grace period of one month - for those outside the UAE, from the date they enter the UAE.

Grace period for three months - for those inside the UAE, to update their documents.

The decision to extend the validity of visas - which expired after March 1, 2020 - till the end of the year is cancelled.

The decision to extend the validity of Emirates IDs - which expired after March 1, 2020 - till the end of the year is cancelled.

The new decision comes into effect from July 11, 2020.

Those who are outside the UAE for more than six months would need to return to the UAE after air travel resumes between the two countries.

The grace period will depend on a specific schedule that will be determined by the ICA.
