Key routes for Hajj 2025

The Haramain High-Speed Railway is a major part of Saudi Arabia’s national transport infrastructure. Covering 453 kilometres of electrified track, it connects the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah with key urban centres, including Jeddah Central Station, King Abdulaziz International Airport, and King Abdullah Economic City.

The station at King Abdulaziz International Airport is the largest of its kind globally in terms of airport integration, allowing passengers arriving by air to board trains without leaving the airport. This ensures a seamless and efficient transfer between air and rail travel.

The five main stations along the Haramain route are:

  • Makkah Station: Located in the Ar Rusayfah District, approximately 3.5 km from Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah Al Mukarramah.

  • Al-Sulaymaniyah, Jeddah Station: Situated in the An Nassim District, about 20 km from King Abdulaziz International Airport.

  • King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) Station: Integrated within the Main Airport Terminal Building.

  • King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) Station: Near the Hejaz Gate of KAEC, about 18 km from King Abdullah Port.

  • Madinah Station: Located in the Al Hadra District, approximately 9 km from the centre of Madinah.
