From two Metro stations to state-of-the-art facilities, here's why residents love the neighbourhood
A scenic waterfront, towering buildings stretching across a three kilometre shoreline – Dubai Marina is one of new districts that were constructed in the city providing a friendly neighbourhood that fits perfectly with a fast-paced city lifestyle.
“We moved to Dubai from Singapore four years ago. This was my first apartment in Dubai and I liked it so much that I wanted to buy our own apartment here, which we have now. It is a pretty big apartment compared to what we were staying in, and has a beautiful view,” Rinkul Nigam, a resident of Dubai Marina, said.
“The neighbourhood has everything, we have more than five supermarkets down below, commuting is really easy because of the tram and the best thing is the view we have from our apartment – we have the sea and The Palm Jumeirah on one side and on the other side is the golf park,” she added.
Deepika Dev, a long-time resident in the neighbourhood, also spoke about how the location makes it easier to commute to work. She pays Dh240,000 for a three bedroom apartment, which has several amenities, like a maid’s room, a storage room and attached bathrooms with all rooms. “We have a nice big kitchen and balcony. The building has a gym, a fitness studio and a temperature controlled swimming pool,” she said.
Another resident, Spanish expatriate Nicolas Ramirez, has lived in the area for more than six years and pays Dh160,000 for a three bedroom apartment. “I just love the community, the liveliness of the place, there’s always things to do, people walking down the streets, supermarkets everywhere. It is close to how it would be back home in Madrid,” he said.
