Total Lubricants launches new oil

Total Lubricants yesterday launched its new product - Total Quartz 4X4 an exclusive engine oil for all four-wheel drives and sports utility vehicles.

A statement from the company said this new generation synthetic multigrade engine oil meets the latest API SL/CF and ACEA - A3/B3 International specifications.

The product, which is now available in a newly designed packaging, claims to be an exclusive product for the fast-growing four-wheel vehicle segment.

Announcing the launch in Dubai yesterday, Jacques Souplet, regional director, Middle East and Central Asia, Total, said the world's leading lubricants brand understands the special needs of today's high performance 4 X 4 engines and has specially formulated these products to meet the most stringent specifications and vehicle demands.

"Technically, Total Qartz 4 X 4 provides excellent resistance at very high temperatures, very high anti-wear protection and good oxidation stability, and protects the engine from start-up and ensures excellent engine performance," he added.

A. S. Krishnan, marketing manager of Total's Middle East operations, said the new product has gone through a series of quality tests before the company decided to launch it in the market.

He said the total size of the lubricants market in the UAE is about 85,000 metric tonnes and is currently growing a rate of six to seven per cent annually.
