The World Classical Music Series is back in Dubai. And this time it’s the turn of the Alliage Quintett, on September 18 at the Royal Ballroom of the One & Only Royal Mirage.

Made up of four saxophonists and a pianist, the Germany-based group was founded by sopranist Daniel Gauthier, currently the only professor for classical saxophone in Germany.

He will be joined by Eva Barthas (alto saxophone), Simon Hanrath (tenor saxophone), Sebastian Pottmeier (baritone saxophone) and Jang Eun Bae on the piano.

The quintet’s Dubai arrival follows concerts at festivals in Amsterdam, Paris, Antwerp and Seoul. They have released four albums to date, with their 2005 Una voce poco fa winning an Echo, Germany’s highest musical honour, that year.

Tickets to the Alliage Quintett’s UAE performance are priced at Dh250 (gold), Dh350 (platinum) and Dh550 (VIP), at mpremiere.com. Call 050-8702674.
