Dubai: Plenty of action was promised at the grand finale of Shoppiesta on Sunday, but tabloid! witnessed a different kind of drama at the rehearsals.
Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor was rudely asked to exit the stage in during his rehearsals by Kelly Rowland's crew who wanted to perform a sound check before she took to the stage later on Sunday. According to sources, an overall delay from Bollywood actors who failed to stick to the time given to them for the rehearsals led to the confusion.
Apart from verbal arguments, one of the show’s technical crew took matters into his own hands and grabbed the microphone off the Indian heartthrob.
The organisers had to intervene to prevent the incident from escalating.
"When we are the organisers, what was the need for you to go upto an actor and grab his microphone. If you have a problem, you sort it out with us, you don't go to an actor and grab the microphone off him," one was heard shouting.
Radhesh Menon, the Director for Shoppiesta said stars could even pull out at the last-minute.
However, Menon later confirmed the issues had been sorted out and that the show was going as planned.
A source later told tabloid! it was an apology from the crew that brought the show back on the road. Apparently, the technician didn’t know who Kapoor was.
A medley of Bollywood actors, including Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora and Jacqueline Fernandez are scheduled to perform later on Sunday after American singer Kelly Rowland and Jamaican reggae artist Sean Paul.
