Bettina shows her villa in Al Quodra for Inside Out Home of the Year on 2 April 2018

Dubai resident Bettina Frimann Larsen was named the winner of the annual InsideOut Home of the Year competition on Tuesday night at an event at the JA Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa.

Larsen, who lives in the Mira Community, was chosen from a shortlist of entries from across the UAE, and will appear on the cover of the monthly magazine’s next issue. She also wins a Dh25,000 voucher from competition sponsor 2XL Furniture & Home Decor.

“What impressed the judges about Bettina’s home was its cohesion and confident execution throughout,” said InsideOut editor Mairead Walsh. “Her creative upcycling and cool Nordic aesthetic, while incorporating eclectic pieces, demonstrated a natural eye for design. Every aspect has been considered, right down to the curated collection of objects, as well as her own personal artwork.”

The InsideOut Home of the Year was launched in 2014 and has generated great interest from both the magazine’s readership and the industry at large. Readers are invited to enter their homes into the competition and from the entries received via email, an initial shortlist is selected and professionally photographed. A judging panel of industry experts select the winning home.

“For me winning is a stamp of approval for the style that I have, it really boosts my confidence,” Larsen, a Danish national, said ahead of final announcement. InsideOut, an interiors and property magazine, is published by Gulf News. For more on Larsen’s and other shortlisted homes, go to insideoutarabia.ae.
