Get your hands on the latest modest fashion looks from around the world when Dubai Modest Fashion Week takes place next month. The two-day event on December 8 and 9 at Burj Park will feature the creations of international fashion designers travelling from all over the world to show their collections in the UAE – many of who have never been seen in the UAE before.
The event will also appearance by hijab-wearing American model Halima Aden. Halima has walked the runways of fashion shows including Kanye West’s Yeezy, Max Mara and Fenty by Rihanna.
Fashion blogger Mariah Idrissi – the face of Modest Fashion Week – will also be making an appearance as well as Melanie Elturk, Leena Asad and many more modest fashion influencers.
Modest Fashion Week is a worldwide event with shows already taking place in London and Istanbul, but this is the first time it has come to the UAE. The event in Dubai will not only include 30 catwalk shows but also 60 pop-up designer brand booths, workshops, exhibitions and fashion talks.
The weekend will also include an award for the best emerging modest fashion designer, who will win the chance to show their designs on the runway, as well as a magazine shoot and the chance to sell their collection online. Some of the shows to look out for include Huw Roman – one of Japan’s leading modest fashion designers; American label Fllumae; and Australia-based brand Anjilla Seddeqi.
Modest make-up brand Wardah Beauty will also be holding an event on the final day, showing the latest trends.
Entry is free.
