With more daily fashion shows than any other event in the UAE, the four-day show is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors to Zabeel Hall at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
Brides and grooms, bridesmaids, mums, dads, flower girls, page boys and even guests are all catered for with stalls and
exhibitions from experts and specialists from the UAE and further afield.
Open daily from 2.30pm to 10pm, the event unveils both traditional and modern bridal looks from more than 400 exhibitors from 13 countries.
‘Impressed'
Mehwish Afzal, 21, was browsing the stalls in search of the perfect dress for her cousin's wedding. She said: “We have only had a quick look around today and we are already impressed with what we have seen. This is a huge show and I hope I can find what I'm looking for.''
Shopping with friends Maryam Imam, 19, Batool Al Taf, 23 and Sana Zaheer, 21, Mehwish studied the detail on a number of dresses at the show.
Manish Malhotra's latest collection was expected to be the first on the ramp last night to wow the crowds. Catering to a
diverse audience, Malhotra's line consists of intricate feminine details, colourful shapes and luxurious fabrics.
Favourite
Space and Flowers, a relatively new company in Dubai, was a favourite with passers-by as the classy but modern designs stopped people in their tracks. Hundreds of pure white roses and orchids, balanced precariously on giant vases of
pink-coloured water brought in the customers on the first day. Only in Dubai for around five months, the company has recently expanded its operations from Paris, France where it is renowned for one-off arrangements.
Running alongside The Bride Show, the Women's Healthcare show and Al Bayt Al Arabie, the UAE's only Arabian home show, also opened to visitors.
The Bride Show Dubai is the largest bridal event in the Middle East and runs until Saturday, April 26.
