The Roberto Cavalli fashion house has announced that Norwegian designer Peter Dundas will take over as the group’s creative director.

The company announced the appointment on Thursday, ending speculation about the creative future of the company after Roberto Cavalli and his wife Eva cede control with the pending sale of a majority stake.

Dundas worked at Cavalli from 2002-2005 and for the last seven years has been the creative director at Pucci.

Cavalli, who with his wife founded the fashion brand in the 1970s, said the choice of Dundas “was made with the desire to evolve a style that combines glamour, tradition and innovation.”
