Winter florals
The season rule book has been thrown out of the window this winter. Not only will you be wearing lots of white, but florals won’t go away either. You can choose from the likes of McQ (this zip dress, Dh4,200, is among other pieces in the same print that will arrive at the Mall of the Emirates boutique from November) or L.K. S*uce x Kartell
The Dubai design fair Downtown Design starts next Tuesday, with hundreds of amazing pieces to be found, but the only retail space will be a pop-up by local boutique chain S*uce. There, you can pick up a gift, and check out an exhibit. They have collaborated with Kartell and 10 designers from the region to reinterpret the Bourgie Lamp. It’s part of a worldwide update of the lamp, which has seen the likes of Philippe Starck, Mario Bellini and Patrick Jouin work on it. In the region, designers involved in the exhibition include Khalid Shafar, Nadine Kanso, Bokja, Wael Hattar and Nada Debs. Downtown Design is October 28, 5-8pm (noon-6pm on October 31). Free admission for pre-registered visitors, or Dh50 on the door.

Paris Hilton’s bags
While the US socialite-turned-DJ was hobbnobbing around town last week, hanging out with the likes of Hrithik Roshan, she also found time to promote her handbag collection, called Rouge by Paris Hilton. The pieces are sold at Lifestyle stores around the UAE, with a number of them that were signed by Hilton also available for sale. And you can expect more from Hilton, who plans to visit us again to talk up her bags. “I love Dubai! It is a beautiful place not only for holidays, but also for business. I am excited about my collaboration with Lifestyle and look forward to launching many more new projects”.
