A new Banana Republic store has just opened in Deira City Centre. The 480 sq m store, the first in Dubai, stocks summer 2007 lines for men and women.
Rosemary Kovacsofsky, Banana Republic marketing manager, said they thought of opening a store in Dubai because this is a dynamic city.
"There is already a high demand and we feel our customers are going to respond well.
"We already have a store in Abu Dhabi. We feel privileged to expand our presence in the UAE," she added.
A wide variety of casual and office wear, plus nightwear and accessories are available, she said.

We met several customers at the opening.
Tunisian Randa Fuad said, "Banana Republic is one of my favourite brands. It has a good choice of fashionable items at good prices."
Iraqi Yassir Abdul Hakim said: "The men's collection is great too, and the prices are convenient".
Egyptian Dalia Z. said, " I am really delighted that my favourite store is now in Dubai because I usually shop at Banana Republic in New York whenever I get a chance.
"I like this brand because they offer outfits that have good quality and are available in limited numbers. So you are sure there are not hundreds of people wearing what you are."
Filipina Wilma, just walking into the store, said: "I like the quality and matchless range of collections. I can't wait to see the lines they have here."
