Cutting-edge fashion
It was a heady mix of glamorous haute couture, lively music, cutting edge technology and opulent surroundings.
LG Fashion Tech, presented by LG Electronics at the Burj Al Arab recently, showcased the latest haute couture collection by Dubai-based Lebanese designer Walid Atallah along with a range of the latest design-conscious LG products. This was followed by a performance by Jordanian singer Diana Karazon.
As always, Atallah's collection of evening and bridal gowns was bold, elegant and innovative. His designs combined delicate, flowing fabrics with chunky embroidered motifs in gold and semi-precious stones.
The cuts were impeccable and the designer had used a combination of fitted, draped, flounced and layered silhouettes to create a feminine yet strong Cleopatra-esque look.
The gowns were accessorised with glittering broad belts with chunky buckles and matching hair ornaments. The look of the entire collection was just right for the chic, confident and tech savvy woman of today.
The entertainment continued with a performance by Diana Karazon. The Jordanian singer, who became well known after winning the Superstar reality show in its inaugural season, presented her latest songs to enthusiastic applause from the audience.
"This event is a celebration of our keen sense of design aesthetics," said K. W. Kim, president of LG Electronics – Middle East and Africa. "LG loves to associate itself with initiatives that are imaginative and can directly connect with our customers and we hope to present many more such events in future," he added.
