Happening for the second year, the first two days of Eid Al Adha will be marked by a non-stop shopping experience for the ‘Dubai 24 Hours’ initiative this Eid in Dubai. Seven major malls in the emirate will open their doors to visitors for 48 hours straight, namely, The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre, Mirdif City Centre, Dubai Festival City Mall, Arabian Centre and Lamcy Plaza.

All seven malls will also offer extended shopping hours during all the other days of the Eid in Dubai between October 10 and 19 from 10am to 2am. Dining hours will be until 3am.

Four more malls, namely, Ibn Battuta Mall, BurJuman, Dubai Outlet Mall, Al Ghurair Centre and Mercato will also operate on extended shopping hours during the Eid in Dubai celebrations from 10am till midnight, with some staying open till the early hours of the morning.

The 10-day Eid in Dubai — Eid Al Adha celebration is expected to further enhance the emirate’s position as a destination of choice for tourists during the Eid holidays, the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), said.

“The success of the inaugural Dubai 24 Hours shopping experience last year — as reflected by the positive feedback from residents, visitors and our partners in the retail sector — was an endorsement of the contribution that retail makes to the city’s economy,” Helal Saeed Al Merri, Director-General of DTCM, said.

“Once again it will add to the overall holiday experience for the large number of families who are expected to be in Dubai during this year’s Eid Al Adha celebrations,” he added.

Now in its sixth edition, Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha this year will focus on uniting different people from across the globe during the Eid celebrations as expressed in this year’s theme ‘Eid Al Adha unites us in Celebration.’

“Eid in Dubai brings out the social significance of the Eid Al Adha festival and perfectly reflects the theme “Eid Al Adha unites us in Celebration” as it has become a shining beacon for the city’s cultural diversity due to the participation of people from numerous nationalities and cultural backgrounds with great fervour and fanfare,” Laila Mohammad Suhail, CEO of DFRE, said.

Besides shopping, there is something for everyone this Eid. Fashionistas will have their first ever Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience. Families can visit Global Village when it opens on October 5.
