Reader is charged for insurance she didn’t want and recieves three billing cycles of over limit fees
Will they reimburse me?
Gulf News, please help me revert the charges from FGB, made on my credit card. In September, FGB charged me Dh588 and another Dh200 as an over-limit charge for lifestyle insurance, which I had never agreed to.
So, I called customer service on August 23 to raise a complaint and requested for the cancellation of insurance. On August 30, I received a text from them, stating that my complaint had been closed. Somebody called me to say they will revert the charges they’ve made, in the next billing cycle. Again, when I received my billing for October, they hadn’t reverted the charges they made, and again, charged me Dh250 as over-limit. I called and talked to one of the agents. She said that it would be credited in my next billing and when they revert Dh588, I can call them again to raise a request to revert the charges for the over-limit.
I received the billing for November and again, Dh588 was not credited to my card. They charged me Dh250 for over-limit once again! I always call them for a follow up, and they always promise me that it would be credited in my next billing, but now, I don’t think they will. They are only charging me again and again.
Please help me get back Dh588 and the over-limit charges, totalling Dh700 now.

Thank you so much, Gulf News, for all the help. I received a call from FGB on December 1 and the agent said the amount would be reimbursed. I will check the next billing statement and hopefully, it will be there. Again, thank you!
