Streetlights must be turned off during the day

My office is on Nakheel Street in Ajman and one day, while sitting at my desk, I looked out of the window and was shocked to see the street lights on at around 10am.

How can the concerned authorities allow such a waste of energy to take place?

When the whole world is concerned about energy conservation and many countries are without any form of electricity, it is upsetting to see such a waste happening for no reason.

I am sure this is not the first time such an issue has come up and it would be good if the authorities could inform the public about the appropriate channels they need to go through to report it.

I hope the concerned authorities do what is necessary to ensure that any system glitches are ironed out and that the lights are turned off in a timely manner to avoid any future wastage.
