New Nol card machine and increase in number of buses result of reader raising awareness about issues in his community.

Until a year ago, on Friday evenings, one could see a very long queue of people heading from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, waiting at the Bur Dubai bus station, suffering in the summer heat. After reporting this issue to Gulf News, the RTA took action immediately after my report was published, increasing the number of buses and frequency of trips to the capital. Recently, around 10.15am on a Friday, I visited the bus station and found only a short queue. I visited again that evening around 6pm and saw that the queue was short. This shows that with an increased number of buses and frequencies to Abu Dhabi, commuters are able to enjoy a very convenient and comfortable journey.
I spent half an hour at the bus station and during that time three buses left for Abu Dhabi. This means that on weekends, there is a bus to the capital every 10 minutes. This shows that there is always a response from the RTA on issues raised in Community reports published in Gulf News.
