I love animals and have had pets in my home for as long as I can remember, but as my job became busier with frequent travel around Europe, my ability to care for a pet permanently wasn’t an option anymore.

However, a recent promotion has brought me to Dubai, where I have set up home. But, the one thing that was missing was a furry companion .
I heard about Feline Friends Dubai from a colleague at work who had adopted a kitten for her family.

I immediately called them to find out about adopting a cat. The woman I spoke to, gave me details about the organisation and how they were in desperate need, not only for permanent adoptions, but also fosterers to care for cats and kittens that hadn’t found their forever homes yet.

There are many cats that get abandoned around Dubai that need a permanent home, so fostering really appealed to me because I could help more than one at a time. I have been fostering now for six months and I have looked after five different cats.

The fostering program for Feline Friends Dubai is great because they supply all medical expenses, food and much more for their foster cats and kittens. I do feel a little sad when one of them is adopted, but I know they are going on to be loved and looked after permanently by their new owners as Feline Friends Dubai has a very thorough adoption process and this makes me really happy.

Feline Friends Dubai have regular monthly adoption events at the Vet Hospital, Al Quoz. The next Adoption Day event is on October 19, Saturday, from 1pm to 4pm. You can also find out about fostering at www.felinefriendsdubai.com
