Every day newspapers and authorities highlight rising obesity, diabetes and heart problems. In this light, I would like to draw attention to the only park in the Naif/Nasser Square neighbourhood.

There are no other parks in the vicinity. This park has been closed for around two years for the construction of the Metro. Now the work is over and the park itself has been spruced up with the addition of more trees and benches but, surprisingly, the authorities have not thrown open its gates to the public.

Now the weather is very pleasant. Residents can exercise or just relax in the only park in the area. I request the authorities to consider opening the park's gates to the residents as soon as possible.
