Without shelters, hundreds have to wait in the heat for buses

The Ibn Batutta bus station has hardly any facilities for travellers. Commuters stand in the scorching heat as there is no bus shelter in sight. There are also no benches or seats, no water coolers and no dust bins.

Empty bottles, cans, cigarette butts, plastic bags and paper cups are regularly scattered around the area.

I have noticed that construction material such as canopies for bus shelters are present in the area. But there seems to be no activity in this regard yet. The canopy lies on the ground, unattended.

This particular bus station is very active and hundreds of commuters use it to travel to Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai Investment Park and other areas.

Therefore, the location needs more care and maintenance. If the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) added a few dust bins, commuters would undoubtedly use them instead of littering.

Similarly, I request the Roads and Transport Authority to take steps to construct bus shelters near the Ibn Battuta Metro Station so that travellers are able to have a comfortable and safe journey.
