I have had car financing from Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) since the past four years. I paid all my dues on May 20, 2017, with early settlement fees at the Sahara Branch. The bank policy mentioned it would take two to three days for the mortgage clearance. It has now been almost two weeks, with three complaints and escalations, but I’ve received no results. I am stuck between the bank’s customer service and the branch’s customer service.

From Mr Avinash Tammal

Dubai

The management of ADIB responds:

Thanks for highlighting this to us.

Mr Tammal’s concern was regarding the release of mortgage on his car that he had financed through ADIB. Our records shows that the release was done on May 31, 2017 post the settlement of his finance.

We have tried contacting him for a discussion but with no success, therefore an SMS/email was sent. He replied via email that he is currently on vacation and would notify us once he is back. Once again, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Mr Tammal responds:

This issue is not resolved. After a month of closing my car finance account and having a ‘No Liability’ letter in hand, ADIB has submitted an equated monthly instalment (EMI) cheque to process, but why?

ADIB responds:

This issue has been sorted with the customer to his satisfaction. The issue is now closed.

(Process initiation: June 11. Response from organisation: June 13. Process completion: July 10.)
