Commuters forced to endure sweltering heat as air conditioning is out of service
Commuters forced to endure sweltering heat as air conditioning is out of service.
I would like to bring to the Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) attention an urgent problem facing bus users. A sheltered bus stop at Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street in Bur Dubai has been under maintenance for the past three months or so. Earlier, the road in front of this bus shelter had been dug up to make way for buses to stop without obstructing traffic. However, even though the road work is complete - since the past two months - the inroad for buses continues to remain blocked by traffic cones.
Additionally, the air-conditioned bus shelter has been out of service for several months and there has been absolutely no work going on at the site. I wonder why it is taking so long! This bus stop is used by a lot of commuters and they would have required it most during the peak summer months. Now, summer is almost about to end yet there appears to be no progress in sight.
I believe the same situation is occurring at the next bus stop, a few blocks down the street. The air-conditioned bus stops are usually considered to be out of service, but no work is being done to resolve the problem. I request the RTA to kindly look into this matter and sort the problem out.
