Reader urges motorists to use appropriate safety measures

Gulf News reader Yunus Ali said he saw motorists swerving out of the way before he was able to spot the reason for their behaviour on Al Ittihad Road. He said: “I was heading toward Sharjah at 7.40am and was shocked to see a large sack of rubbish in the middle of the road. Most motorists are speeding at this time, at about 120 kilometres per hour, and they would swerve at the last minute to avoid the obstacle. This is extremely dangerous!”
On his way back, the community reporter noticed that the sack had been moved out of the way. But he urged motorists — particularly truck drivers — to use appropriate safety measures to keep cargo within the vehicle at all times.
